The Icelandic horse is famous and much loved all around the world and even though they don’t all come from Áskot, this is the area where many professional horse breeders live.
Every cottage has it’s own private car charging station. So you can start each adventurous day “fully charged”.
There is nothing more calming than watching our friendly horses stoically grazing nearby.

We’re Gréta and Steinar, fulfilling our dream of living on a horse farm and sharing it with travelers like you. We’re passionate about horses and host Iceland’s only horse swimming pool on our farm. In 2023, we opened Áskot Cottages to offer a luxurious yet cozy place where guests can relax in a “home away from home” surrounded by Iceland’s natural beauty.
Each house has a comfortable King size bed (which can easily be turned into two single beds) and a high quality sofa bed.
Our linen is 100% cotton and the sheets and pillows hypoallergenic.
This is the perfect place to relax, reflect, read or listen to good music through the Bluetooth speakers provided.
